The Velcro Pygmies

Friday October 17th - 8:00 PM

The World Famous Velcro Pygmies want to take you on a little journey, and they promise it won't hurt. This golden ticket will get you a trip back to a time when music was in its prime. Back when hair was big but rock 'n' roll was bigger … back when a 17-second guitar solo transformed a man and his machine into a Rock God … back when fallen angels swarmed the front row like Aquanet to a feathered bang. The Velcro Pygmies travel the country year round - from the Gulf Shores to the Great Lakes - to share the sights, sounds and stain-washed denim of the glorious '80s, schooling audiences on the difference between a rock band and a rock show. From start to finish, they command the stage with a prowess uncommon in today's industry, and they leave you begging for more. No gimmicks or tricks, just undiluted rock 'n' roll energy that unites every race, creed, age and gender.

The Velcro Pygmies are more than just a band - they are a way of life. They're a nitro-fueled Trans Am prowling the streets at dusk, looking for some action - satisfaction all night. They ain't looking for nothing but a good time, and it don't get better than this.

Galactic

Ft. Jelly Joseph

Saturday October 18th - 7:15 PM

2025 07 11 11 32 23

For over 30 years, Galactic has been a powerhouse of New Orleans music, fusing funk, jazz, rock, and soul into a sound that’s unmistakably their own. Originally coming together in the '90s as a late-night funk band, the group has grown into a genre-defying collective that continues to evolve while staying true to their roots. Their high-energy live shows and adventurous collaborations have earned them a loyal following around the world.

In recent years, Galactic has been touring and recording with dynamic vocalist Jelly Joseph, whose soulful, commanding voice adds a powerful new dimension to their sound. The band also serves as the owner and steward of the legendary Tipitina’s music venue, where they host iconic performances and foster the next generation of New Orleans artists. In 2021, they launched Tipitina’s Record Club, an all-vinyl label celebrating the city's rich musical legacy.

Their newest release, Audience With the Queen (out April 11, 2025), marks a major milestone: a full-length collaboration with Irma Thomas, the beloved "Soul Queen of New Orleans." Featuring Thomas on every track, the album blends her timeless voice with Galactic’s modern edge, delivering a powerful and deeply rooted collection of songs that honor both tradition and innovation. Audience With the Queen is a testament to Galactic’s unique place in American music—deeply New Orleans, endlessly collaborative, and always pushing forward.

Mother's Finest

Saturday October 18th - 5:30 PM

"Too Funk for Rock, Too Rock for Funk." Mothers Finest has always been a band impossible to force into artificially-labelled boxes. One of the most energetic and charismatic groups to cut a swath through the music industry, Mothers Finest defies boundaries and creates its own genre. Led by superbly talented vocalists Glenn "Doc" Murdock and Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy, and anchored by the tight, crunchy rhythm section of Gary "Moses Mo" Moore and John "Red Devil" Hayes on guitars, Jerry "Wyzard" Seay on bass, and Dion Derek on drums, Mothers Finest drives through the pocket like a Mack truck and peels the paint off the walls.

Now past their fiftieth year of crushing the groove and bangin' their fans' heads upside, Mothers Finest hasn't lost any of their signature energy and passion. These veterans of the music industry - and Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductees - continue to tour, delighting long-time fans and drawing many new ones into the fold.

From the rollicking mashup "Mickey's Monkey" and the soulful "Thank You For The Love" on their iconic album "Another Mother Further," to the bonejarring funk-metal of "Black Radio Won't Play This Record," the band has never rested on their laurels, and has consistently refined and grown its sound while remaining true to its funk-rock roots.

They are a live band without peer, and many a well-known artist has regretted having to follow Mothers Finest as an opening act.

Get it. Get it, get it. Get a piece of the Rock.

Laine Hardy

Saturday October 18th - 2:00 PM

The winner of the 17th season of American Idol, Laine Hardy is a country singer who tempers his Louisiana roots with a smooth flair borrowed from pop. A native of Louisiana, Hardy was born in Baton Rouge on September 12, 2000, but raised in its suburb Livingston. As a child, he learned how to play guitar, and as a teenager he played with his brothers and cousins in the local group the Band Hardy. Eventually, Laine began singing with the Band Hardy.

Soon, Hardy concentrated on singing. When he was just 17 in 2018, he auditioned for the 16th season of American Idol. Hardy didn't make it into the competition, but he did self-release a debut EP called In the Bayou by the end of the year; he also put out a seasonal cover of Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas." Hardy returned to American Idol auditions in 2019. He got onto the show, then proceeded to become a fan favorite, singing a mixture of country and pop classics.

Eventually, he made it all the way to the finale, winning the competition in May 2019. After he took home the crown, his coronation single, "Flame," was released; it made it to eight on Billboard's Digital Songs chart.

Kudzu Kings

Sunday October 19th - 3:30 PM

2025 07 24 14 46 20

Kudzu Kings have been on a musical crusade since 1994, playing at festivals and music venues in the Southeast and beyond with their diverse catalogue of original music and decidedly waggish banter. These good-time botanical royalists gained early popularity playing the jamband circuit. However, the majority of their songs are in a more traditional vein: true stories about life in the South, in a style they describe as “funktry”. In 2020, the band was honored with an exhibit and living e-archive in the Universtiy of Mississippi Blues Archive.

Although the band has had personnel changes over the past thirty years, the original lineup has been reunited and play together for the last decade: Tate Moore (vocals, acoustic guitar), Robert Chaffe (keyboards), “Kudzu” Dave Woolworth (vocals, bass), Max Williams (vocals, lead guitar), Chuck Sigler (drums), and George McConnell (vocals, rhythm, and lead guitars; also, formerly of Beanland and Widespread Panic). Kudzu Kings’ music has a broad and empyrean appeal to the young and adventurous at heart across the entire Southern Zodiac. Where this band goes, good times follow.
